Your Safety
Your health and safety is our top priority. We have invested in the latest technology and train our practice team to maintain the highest standards of sterilisation and cross infection control.
A confidentiality policy in operation and the practice complies fully with the Data Protection Act.
We take the following precautions for yout safety:
Dental instruments are cleaned and sterilised after each use in a central sterilisation area. An automated washer-disinfector is first used to thoroughly clean and disinfect instruments. After this a steam autoclave kills all remaining bacteria and viruses by sterilization at 134 degrees. This process will destroy all harmful micro-organisms. Our sterilization equipment is inspected, serviced and certified by external engineers.
Instruments are stored in cassettes or sterile pouches until required in the surgery.
Water used during operative dental procedures is isolated from the mains supply and purified using a Sterilox system. This technology delivers highly effective disinfection of the dental unit water lines and creates a healthier environment for patients and the whole dental team.

Dentists and dental nurses use antibacterial handwashes and change gloves between each patient.
Clinical clothing is worn in the practice only, never outside the building.
Antimicrobial sprays and wipes are used to disinfect surgery work surfaces between patients.
Disposable bibs and protective glasses are provided for patients during operative procedures.
Disposable plastic covers are applied to those areas which may be touched and changed between patients.
For surgical procedures including implant treatment, disposable gowns and drapes are used.
